Podcast Reel

I've learned a TON over the last year or so listening to podcasts. Having a dog has really helped me fly through podcasts. Every time I take her out, I get to listen to a podcast! Also, LPT - speed up the podcasts to get through them faster! 1.3 speed generally works well.
In no particular order, this is what my current podcast queue looks like.
Work in Progress by Slack
Although this is a podcust from Slack, it really doesn't have much to do with the product itself, except perhaps all the episodes are about people? It's a great podcast with high production value and amazing stories. I feel like 50% of the episodes to a great job of tugging on your emotional strings. Bonus is that a lot of the episodes have something to do with Vancouver, since that's where one of their offices is.
How I Built This by NPR
One of the many great podcasts from NPR. Every episode is an interview with a founder. Some top episodes are from the founders of Instagram, Airbnb, Vice, Samuel Adams, and Patagonia. Definitely worth it if you are looking for some inspiration to start something.
Seeking Wisdom
Easily my top podcast from the last year. This is hosted by product guy David Cancel. The episodes are down to earth, and David and his co-host Dave talk openly about things they encounter on a weekly basis at Drift. If you're a manager at a tech company, this will be good for you.
The Tim Ferriss Show
This was the first podcast I ever really listened to. I originally found it through his Twitter or something. I was a fan of SOME of the ideas in the 4-Hour Work Week, so I gave it a go. Now well over a year later, Tim has produced over a hundred episodes, and some are FANTASTIC. MY favorite one is with actor/comedian/singer Jamie Foxxx. Definitely worth the listen.
Inside Intercom
Intercom is one of our favorite products at Advisor Websites, so when they started a podcast, I tuned in. This one is pretty product focused as well, and they interview a ton of awesome people from other companies as well. Their open dialogue and laid back style jives well with me.
Rich Roll
This one is for when I want to feel healthy, or mindful, or something like that. It's a pretty good show, although most episodes are a little long for me (over the hour mark). Rich Roll is pretty insipirational, being a vegan ultra marathon runner and all, so I respect what he talks about and his views on food and wellness.
SaaStr Podcasts
I attended the SaaStr annual conference in 2016 for my first time, and I'm heading back again this year. This SaaStr blog is full of pure gold for the SaaS industry. This podcast is a no-brainer for me.
Freakonomics Radio
I still remember the first time I read the original Freakomonics back in university, and I've been hooked ever since. The host Steven Dubner does a great job of exploring the hidden side of everything. Entertaining listen for sure.
Radio Lab
Another highly produced podcast. There was a murder mystery episode that got my interested in this show, but I don't ALWAYS listen to the latest episodes. Each show is kind of a one off that tells an interesting story about something. Read through some of the titles and see if it's for you!
This Week In Startups
I swear there is more than 1 podcast a week. Again, I don't listen to every episode but if they are hosting someone from a company I like, I check in. Very start up oriented.
Podcast I'm Most Looking Forward To in 2017?
As I was writing this post, I got an email from Noah Kagan saying that he just launched a podcast. Noah was employee #30 at Facebook, and has a book called How I Lost 170 Million Dollars which was a mildly interesting read. Currently he runs an awesome product called App Sumo which basically consolidates awesome products online, as well as offering a few of their own. Noah isn't for everyone, but I have a feeling I'm going to like this one.
